Latest Qualcomm 8 Gen 3 leak shows clock speed and core configuration

The next generation of Qualcomm chips, the Qualcomm 8 Gen 3, still Snapdragon, is on its way. And according to the event popping up as regards the chip, the Qualcomm 8 Gen 3 might be better than the A16 Bionic. Well, let’s take a look at the features of this chipset and what’s making it impressive – according to the recent leak.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 launch date, Qualcomm 8 Gen 3

Features of the Qualcomm 8 Gen 3, according to the recent leak

Qualcomm is unlikely to deliver a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2 as a mid-cycle upgrade to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. However, it looks like Qualcomm is already hard at work on the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, with a recent leak shedding additional details on the flagship processor.

The Qualcomm 8 Gen 3 will retain its predecessor’s 1+4+3 core layout, according to leaker RGcloudS, contrary to prior speculations alleging a transition to a 1+5+2 design. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 appears to be based on TSMC’s N4P 4 nm node. As previously reported, Apple’s A17 Bionic will be the sole flagship chipset built using a 3 nm process this year, with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 projected to catch up next year.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is expected to include a Cortex X4 primary core. Its prime core might be clocked at 3.72 GHz in Samsung’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Cortex-A715 and new Cortex-A515 cores are expected to join it. Nevertheless, the possible clock speeds of such cores are still unclear. In any event, it’s still early days, and you should take everything with a grain of salt.
