A couple of months ago, Xiaomi announced it’ll upgrade the Redmi Note 8 Pro alongside the Note 8 to Android 11. There were doubts at the early stages, but that cleared when those in the closed beta group received the Android 11 build. Also, Redmi Note 8 stable ROM users in China have started getting a stable MIUI based Android 11 update, which hints at imminent arrival on the Pro variant since both started testing at the same period. Therefore, it’s good to install the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update in India to fortify your device ahead of the upgrade.
As it starts now, Xiaomi will push a new OS to the device users before the arrival of MIUI 12.5. The company has been swiftly rolling out the update to eligible phones, and so far, about 15 phones have received the update. We expect more to adopt the update soon, including the Redmi Note 8 Pro. However, you only get an updated Android Security patch level with the latest Redmi Note 8 Pro update in India, but it improved system security and stability.
The update is hitting eligible users with a version number – MIUI 12.0.4.0 QGGINXM – and weighs in at 136MB. It sans the Android 11 and could only push the security patch level to January 2020 while fixing some minor bugs. However, it’s a limited rollout as usual and will arrive for limited users.
