Xiaomi is currently rolling out the MIUI 12.5 update to the third batch of phones in China. The update has since arrived for the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Mi 8, Mi 8 Lite, Mi Max 3, and surprisingly the Redmi 7. However, only a handful of devices have received the update globally and in other regions. Of course, the Mi 10T / Mi 10T Pro is among the phones that have received the update, but it is yet to arrive in all regions. The MIUI 12.5 update first arrived in Europe after the Chinese release and took a while to get to India. Surprisingly, the Mi 10T / Mi 10T Pro MIUI 12.5 update in Indonesia has been released while the global variants are still waiting.
Hopefully, the next region to start receiving the MIUI 12.5 update will be the global region. The update is expected to optimize system performance while introducing some minor changes to improve animation. Also, new system sounds and super wallpapers will be introduced with this update, while it will be possible to uninstall some system apps. However, from reports, the issue with third-party launchers on gestures and square chat bubbles is still there. That’s a minor issue, though, as you can revert to the system launcher. Also, the issue wouldn’t affect your daily operations with the device, but we expect a new update to arrive with a fix soon.
Meanwhile, the Mi 10T / Mi 10T Pro MIUI 12.5 update in Indonesia doesn’t have the complete changes arriving with the build. It says, “Updated Android security patch to May.” “Increased system security.” “Location info can now be reported automatically before the device is powered off.” Of course, that’s just for the update log. You’ll notice some changes after upgrading to the latest iteration of MIUI.
