Redmi K30S Ultra starts receiving stable MIUI 12.5 as Mi 10T waits

Xiaomi, for some weeks now, has been swiftly rolling out the stable MIUI 12.5 update after a successful closed beta test. The rollout has remained in China, but we believe the global rollout is imminent. Earlier, we reported the arrival of the update on Mi CC9, which is rebadged Mi 9 Lite for the global market and is the same situation as the Redmi K30S Ultra. The device is available globally as Mi 10T but sells in China as Redmi K30S Ultra and is now receiving the latest MIUI Android skin.

stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi K30S Ultra

The stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi K30S Ultra brings all the expected features, including the improved haptic feedback system. Also, the device is now faster, smoother, and lighter, and given the promise made by the company a couple of weeks ago, bugs affecting the device after MIUI 12 received a fix. Interestingly, power consumption is optimized, while background memory usage has been reduced to improve the performance of MIUI. Unfortunately, it’ll take some time before the update lands for all eligible users due to the nature of the OTA rollouts.

Meanwhile, the update is hitting units with a familiar build number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RJDCNXM – and weighs in at 3.5GB for the full recovery ROM. You’ll need an authorized Mi Beta account to install the ROM or a compatible TWRP Recovery to bypass the Xiaomi server lock. Of course, you can install the ROM on your Mi 10T / Pro, but some Google apps might malfunction. Also, Chinese ROM has only two language options – English and Chinese. However, we recommend you wait for feedback before opting to install the stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi K30S Ultra on Mi 10T / Mi 10T Pro.
