Xiaomi Mi 9 is receiving a new update in Europe. Download below…
Xiaomi continues to deliver its current Android skin and a new version of Android to eligible phones in its stable. A couple of minutes ago, the Redmi Note 8 started receiving a stable Android 11, and now, the update has arrived for the Mi 9. But while the former is receiving a new Android OS with stable MIUI 12, the latter is receiving it with the latest iteration of MIUI (MIUI 12.5). The update, as usual, is available for select users for preview and will start seeding for everyone soon.
The Mi 9 Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update in Europe has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RFAEUXM – and weighs in at 2.4GB. It brings along a stable MIUI based on Android 11 and bumps the Android security patch level to June 2021 to increase system security and stability. The update also brings the features of MIUI 12.5, which has addressed some problems reported by early Android 11 adopters.
However, some problems have persisted. The third-party launcher compatibility issue and ugly square chat bubbles are there. Also, the current build is the first Mi 9 Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 update, and hence, we recommend you backup your data before upgrading. That’s because early Android 11 adopters were able to fix some of the problems by performing a factory reset. And with your data in a safe location, you will restore after the hard reset without data loss.
It unclear when that public release will commence nor the time frame for an extension to other regions. However, you can follow our tracker page for updates. That’ll notify you when the update becomes available in your region. However, the European ROM users can download the build below.
