As reported earlier that we should be expecting a new Windows update on the second Tuesday of the month, it’s coming to play as Microsoft is rolling out a new Windows 11 update.
Further details on the new Windows 11 update
Contrary to the conventional move of Microsoft to introduce minor features in updates, the new Windows 11 update is bringing in a slew of features plus a more stable Windows experience. Users on Windows 11 can get the new Windows 11 update (KB5017238) via the link at the end of the article. The update will be bumping up the build number to 22000.978.
Here is what the new Windows 11 update is offering:
- Addresses a known issue that affects Microsoft accounts (MSA). The web dialogue that you use to sign in or sign out might not appear. This issue occurs on devices that have installed KB5016691.
- Addresses security issues for your Windows operating system
You shouldn’t be taken aback by the few features showcased here as the full changelog is yet to be released by the brand. There are fixes for some other issues like USB printers, Windows 11 SE store apps not being trusted, and malfunctioning Bluetooth headsets among others.
The cumulative update will be made available to Windows 10 users as well. The build number will be bumped up to 19042.2006, 19043.2006, or 19044.2006 having received KB5017308, which comprises fixes for security issues. It is worth noting that the update is a mandatory one and as such you should proceed to install it, however, if you don’t make the move, it will be installed automatically.
