Xiaomi, after the unveiling of the MIUI 12.5 back in December last year, promised to start rolling out the update in Q2 this year. But knowing how serious the company is with software updates, we expect the new iteration of MIUI to arrive sooner. As expected, the rollout started just ahead of schedule with the Mi 11 Ultra – the first Xiaomi phone to run the build. It was immediately rolled out to the Mi 10 Ultra, which brings all the features of MIUI 12.5, including the haptic feedback system. Now Xiaomi has released the stable MIUI 12.5 update for Xiaomi Mi 11, again, in China.
That’s how MIUI updates naturally are, and only on rare occasions would update arrive globally first. Xiaomi always starts its rollout in China, then extends it to global units after some weeks. Hence, seeing the MIUI 12.5 rollout starting in China shouldn’t be strange as that has been the tradition of MIUI rollouts. However, since the update has started rolling out, we won’t have to wait much longer before the build gets to more devices in different regions. And if your device isn’t updated yet, now is the right time to download your device’s latest firmware.
Meanwhile, the stable beta MIUI 12.5 update for Xiaomi Mi 11 has a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RKBCNXM – and weighs in at 452MB. On the changelog is “updated Android Security patch level to March 2021. Increased system security.” Of course, the update brings all the features of MIUI 12.5, including the haptic feedback. The update is being rolled out in batches as usual. It’s going to take some time before appearing for all eligible users. However, you can flash the Recovery ROM, but that might return an error. Of course, you can by-pass the server lock with an authorized Mi Beta account or with a compatible TWRP Recovery flashed.
