Before the news of MIUI 12.5, we were anticipating MIUI 13. Xiaomi, seeing all the complaints from its phone users and coupled with the fact that they haven’t paid attention to stability, decided otherwise. They had to develop an intermediary version to address the issue facing MIUI, which has been rolling out for some time now. As expected, the update has improved the stability of MIUI, and now, the company can start the MIUI 13 development.
When Xiaomi released the list of phones to receive MIUI 12, it had Redmi 7, Redmi 6A, Redmi Y3, and others. However, some of the phones couldn’t adapt to the system due to compatibility issues. Seeing that, the company needed to improve its MIUI OS, which they did with MIUI 12.5. They reduced power consumption and background memory usage by up to 25% while optimizing the entire system, making it faster, lighter, and smoother. And with the stable MIUI 12.5 update now rolling out, the company is now turning its attention to MIUI 13 development.
According to the recent report coming out from telegram, the latest MIUI cleaner app update hints at the adoption of MIUI 13. The changelog reveals that Xiaomi is already adapting the app to the next iteration of MIUI. It means the company is finally working on the next iteration of MIUI, given that it has started adapting some of its native apps to MIUI 13.
Unfortunately, we still don’t have a clue when Xiaomi plans to release MIUI 13. The rumor that surfaced a couple of weeks ago alleged June 26 as the official date, but the company has since flagged it as fake news. However, given the recent development, it won’t be long until we start seeing official reports about MIUI 13.
Meanwhile, we have compiled a list of Xiaomi phones using the company’s update policy that’ll receive the update. You can check the list here, but that’s not the official list, and hence, don’t panic if your device isn’t included yet.
