Motorola Droid Maxx 2 on Verizon Network getting Nougat Update

Better late than never for Motorola Droid Maxx 2, which  just the same case for Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+. The device has been on beta lab for Oreo update for quite some time now, with the update rolling out some hours ago after a while of anticipation. Though the update came late, but when compared to Motorola Droid Maxx 2 which is currently getting Android 7.0 Nougat, then is a plus for Samsung.

Motorola Droid Maxx 2 receiving Android OS 7.0 Nougat. The new update hitting the phone is almost one and half years old, meaning the update is now long overdue. This is true considering the fact that Moto X play, which is the international version of the Droid Maxx 2 tested Nougat in June last year and more surprisingly it was Android OS 7.1.1 not 7.0.

However is a good thing for a device launched in 2015, running Android 5.1 lollipop which was later upgraded to Marshmallow. The new update also prove the fact that Motorola and Verizon has not given up on their older device.

Change log for the update includes, fixes for the crack Wi-Fi venerability and the security patch level has been bump to December 2017 security patch. It should have been better if the update had come with the February security patch, but considering that is hard to see iteration rollout past Android phones two years anniversary.
