Motorola P30

Motorola P30 arrived looking like iPhone X but with entirely different specs. The screen sport tall 6.2-inch IPS LCD panel and FHD+ resolution. There is a notch at the front panel extending the aspect ratio to 19:9. Motorola P30 features cutting-edge Snapdragon 636 Octa-core processor, paired with 6GB RAM. It comes in multiple internal memory storage – 64GB and 128GB and also a space for memory expansion using Micro SD card for additional space to store your files.

On the Motorola P30 is a dual camera arrangement with a design taking straight from iPhone X. However, their sensors are different with 16MP + 2MP as the main shooter features a f/1.8 aperture lens while the depth sensor has a f/2.2 lens. On the front panel is a single 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.25um pixel size.

The phone has a circular identification scanner placed at the center of the back panel with Motorola logo on it. There is a 3000mAh battery to power the device, while out of the box, it will run Android OS 8.0 based on ZUI 4.0.

Sitting in front of the Motorola P30 looking like iPhone X is a tall 6.3-inch 18.7:9 aspect ratio panel. It features 1080 x 2246px resolution onboard 402PPI to deliver vivid and colorful details. The screen which covers almost 90% of the front panel sports Corning Gorilla Glass for maximum protection against scratch and mild falls.

Performance

Behind the brain-box is cutting-edge Octa-core processor that has already featured Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, Asus Zenfone Max Pro m1, and another mid-range device. Check for Snapdragon 636 smartphones. The processor implements kryo architecture clocking at 1.8GHz and paired with 6GB RAM for seamless operation. Out of the box, Motorola P30 will run ZUI 4.0 on top Android OS 8.0 Oreo.

Storage

Motorola is combining both premium and mid-range specs with the massive 128GB internal and still a space for memory expansion. However, there is also a 64GB memory variant depending on the preference of the user. Ether way, you do get additional 256GB memory achievable with Micro SD card.

Camera

Debuted with Motorola P30 is the trendy dual rear camera arrangement for depth effect. The camera features dual 16MP (f/1.8, 1.25um, and PDAF) main sensor accompanied by 5MP (f/2.2) depth sensor for bokeh effect. It is coupled with Dual- LED dual-tone Flash, wide angle and HDR. Sitting on the front cut-out is a single 12MP shooter featuring f/1.9 aperture lens, Selfie spot-light and can record 1080p@30fps video.

Security

It’s quite rear seeing a Motorola device launch with a rear-mounted fingerprint identification scanner. The recently unveiled Moto Z3 debuted with side mounted scanner but the P30 made it with a rear mounted scanner marked with Motorola logo. The scanner, however, will provide maximum security apart from the aesthetic aspect.

Battery

The Motorola P30 makes use of Type-C cable for refilling the battery unlike Oppo F9 with an outdated micro USB port. Meanwhile, parked inside the slim body is a 3000mAh battery that supports fast battery charging (18W).
