As days go by and technology advances, it’s not surprising to see tech platforms come up with some beautiful tech – this time, it’s from Samsung. We’ve got a new 2000 nits OLED display for smartphones from Samsung that might just be greater than that 2000 nits mark even.
A hint of the new 2000 nits OLED display from Samsung was dropped at CES 2023. The specific name for the display is the Ultra dynamic range 2000 luminance mark and it just got certified by UL solutions. The new OLED display is a groundbreaking feat from Samsung and will give the mobile display tech a new turnaround.
For reference, the new 2000 nits OLED display (UDR 2000 luminance mark) matches the peak brightness value on the newly announced S95C and S90C quantum dot OLED TVs. Meanwhile, the Korean tech giant has just secured UDR 1500 on its new panel. According to the brand “the new UDR panel shows more realistic and rich colours that will be especially noticeable in outdoor use.”
The new 2000 nits OLED display’s debut
The Samsung Galaxy S23 is yet to be released and according to sources, the smartphone is not coming until sometime in February. New reports say Samsung has employed a UDR on its new panel, it could be that this new UDR will be debuting on the Samsung Galaxy S23.
It’s even more obvious since the brand supplied a display panel to Apple for the iPhone 14 Pro which can give a peak brightness of 2000 nits for HDR content. The S23 should be slightly better than the iPhone 14 in this section since the brand is planning to weigh it with the iPhone 14 and even the iPhone 15 to debut soon.
