Adaptive touch sensitivity is coming to Pixel phones
Google recently released the Android 14 QPR3 Beta 1 update, and as usual, potential features coming to Pixel phones are being spotted. The latest that could be coming to Pixel phones is “adaptive touch sensitivity.” Of course, the feature is still in the works, but we know how it will work on eligible phones.
Pixels are arguably the smartest phones in the world, and Google is not slowing down anytime soon. With the Pixel 8 series, the company introduced screen protector mode. When enabled, it improves your phone’s touch sensitivity. It seems the feature will be coming to more phones in the future, though it might be different from that on the Pixel 8 series.
According to Android Police, Google is working on a new feature called “Adaptive touch sensitivity.” It “automatically adjusts touch sensitivity to your environment, activities, and screen protector.” The line of code did not say how the feature will work but we believe the condition of your environment like cold, will result in a boost in touch sensitivity and a lower sensitivity when it rainy to avoid accidental touches.

Meanwhile, we do not know the Pixel phones that will get the adaptive touch sensitivity feature. We believe all the Tensor Powered devices will receive it, but would not be surprised if Google makes it Pixel 8 exclusive. When the feature becomes available, there will be an option in the Settings under Display – Touch sensitivity.
