It’s been months since Xiaomi rolled out the first Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. They promised to push the update to more users as it limited the first build to a few users in India. That’s how OTA works; first, arrive for limited users, then for the public if no bug is reported. However, it seems Xiaomi is still testing Android 11 for the Redmi Note 9 Pro as they release another “Beta stable” build for the device.
The new Android 11-based MIUI 12 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is for Indian ROM users. It’s coming with a version number, MIUI 12.0.3.0 RJWINXM, and weighs in at 2.3GB. On the changelog is optimization for the random noise that could be heard when the screen is turned off and a stable MIUI based on Android 11. The update also bumped the security patch level to December 2020 and improved system security and stability.
We anticipate a wider rollout this time as not many complain was made about the first build. This new update may start arriving for the public in the coming days. However, you can download the update via the links below and use the manual method of upgrading via the updater app, but that might return an error.
Nevertheless, if you have a compatible TWRP Recovery installed on your Redmi Note 9 Pro, it would be easy to install the ROM. And before the installation, a full backup of your data is necessary, as most times, a factory reset is required to get the phone working after a cross-section Android upgrade.
