A new Google Play System update is now available for Pixel phones
We thought the stable Android 14 update would bring the latest Google Play System update to Pixel phones, but that didn’t happen. Instead, we got new features, system optimization, and the October 2023 security patch. However, a new Google Play System update is now available for download on Pixel phones.
Google Pixel phones have been on the August 1, 2023 Play System update for months, but that changes with the latest update. The devices are getting the September 2023 Play System update, which introduces new features, improves security, and optimizes performance. We recommend installing the update on your phone to enable Android to run smoothly.
Meanwhile, installing the September 1, 2023 Play System update isn’t a straightforward thing. You might get an error “failed to update” while trying to download the update. Also, you will first download a 145 kb-sized update, after which you will reboot your device to install. After that, head to Settings>>Security & Privacy >>System & Update. Tap on Google Play System update to download the new update.
Of course, the update isn’t the latest version, and we might not receive the update this month. Nevertheless, we recommend installing the update, and hopefully, Google will release the latest version soon. If you get an error message trying to download the new update, exist that page, and wait for a few seconds before trying again. Repeat the process when you get an error message until you successfully install the update.
