The Redmi Note 9 Pro was among the first Xiaomi phones to receive the Android 11 build. It was late last year that the device received the update in India and has since reached every user in that region. One would expect the same for other regions, but that is not the case. According to our previous report, the global and European Android 11 update for the Redmi Note 9 Pro is still under testing. The update would only start seeding when developers confirm it is safe, and while we wait, a new Redmi Note 9 Pro update has just been released in India.
Given the build number – MIUI 12.0.4.0 RJWINXM – the update is the fourth Android 11 – based MIUI 12 update that has been pushed to the device. It is surprising that till now some regions are still waiting for the update, given that it has been months since Indian users first receive the update. We believe the delay is due to bugs that need to be fixed, and we expect the update to start rolling out in other regions very soon. Meanwhile, if you’re running the Indian ROM, you can visit the updater app and check for the new Redmi Note 9 Pro update.
The update bumps the Android security patch level to February 2021 to increase system security and stability. It also fixed some minor bugs and fortified the device ahead of the MIUI 12.5 upgrade. But as usual, only a few selected users will receive the update for preview, and given the outcome, the public rollout might commence in the coming days. Nevertheless, you can use the link below and download the ROM if you opt for manual installation, but in most cases, flashing manually returns an error.
