Xiaomi officially announced MIUI 12, the company’s latest Android skin, in April this year. Since then, the company has been rolling out the update to eligible devices, and thus far, over 30 Xiaomi phones have received the MiUI 12 update. It was the official MIUI Twitter handle that posted the picture below and claims that MIUI 12 is now available for all the phones on the list.
A lot of Xiaomi fans whose phones are yet to receive the stable MIUI 12 update, seeing their device on the list, have since refuted the claim. Most of the global Redmi Note 8 users are still without the MIUI 12 update, which is now frustrating given the circumstances that surround the update for that particular device. However, according to a Moderator in the Mi community forum, more Redmi Note 8 users will receive the update when the beta testing is over. Unfortunately, there’s no ETA in that regard, but we hope it’s going to be soon enough.
Meanwhile, since the company claims that these Xiaomi phones that appeared on the list have all received the MIUI 12 update, we expect the next phase of the rollout to commence. It’s probably time for the update to start rolling out to users of the Redmi Note 5 Pro, Redmi 5 Plus, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A, Redmi 6 Pro, among others.
Also, if your Xiaomi phone is yet to receive the MIUI 12 update, there’s a chance the update is going to arrive in the next couple of weeks. Xiaomi needs to finalize the rollout to focus more on the next iteration, which is MIUI 13, and also on bringing Android 11 to eligible devices. That said, we are going to monitor the situation and will report here when there’s new information, or finally when the update is released for more phones.
