It has been a while since we heard from POCO, a Xiaomi sub-brand that gained autonomy early this year but has remained on Xiaomi’s supply chain. A couple of weeks ago, the brand manager confirmed that the brand is still new to start making its smartphone design and would be relying on the parent company for now. That confirmed why we have seen so many rebadged Redmi phones launching under the POCO moniker.
Anuj Sharma, POCO executive, also confirmed that the POCO F2 Pro isn’t the direct successor of the popular Pocophone F1, hinting at the possible unveiling of the Poco F2 in the future. However, there’s nothing concrete yet so far about the POCO F2.
Meanwhile, according to the latest report, the company will be having a new product launch on November 24 to announce the successor of the POCO M2.
According to POCO Global official Twitter page, they’ll be introducing a new smartphone, dubbed POCO M3, on Tuesday next week. It will be an online launch event and will start at 20:00 GMT+8.
Unfortunately, we don’t know any details of the Poco M3, but recently a new POCO device with a model number M2010J19CG stopped over at the Geekbench website. Although the listing didn’t reveal much about the device, it was able to confirm a few features.
Going by the listing, the new Poco device will run Android 10 outside of the box and will have at least a model with 4GB RAM. It didn’t confirm the processor, but the source code revealed the GPU as Adreno 610, and that matches Snapdragon 662 Octa-Core SoC.
Hence, if the rumors are true and if the new POCO M3 device is what passed on Geekbench recently, then we’re going to see another mid-range smartphone. We hope to start seeing official teasers from the company in the coming days.
