Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G released

While everyone is being wowed by what Qualcomm has integrated into the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, we have another chip from the brand but not a high-end one this time – it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G, an upgrade to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+.

Features of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G

First off, one of the most sought-after features on a chip is the cores. The 6nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G is equipped with 8 Kryo 670 cores with the Adreno 642l GPU. The eight cores comprise a prime Kryo 670 core clocked at 2.7GHz, three Kryo 670 Gold cores clocked at 2.2GHZ, and then Kryo 670 Silver core clocked at 1.9GHz.

Courtesy of the new CPU, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G is 5 percent faster and together with the GPU (which makes it 10 percent faster), you can conclude that the chip is a good upgrade. Moving forward to the camera, this chip can support three 22MP cameras, a 36MP and 22MP dual camera or a single 64MP camera.

Still, on image processing, this chip is integrated with the triple 14 ISP support, the ability to process images at 2 gigapixels per second as well as 200MP resolution support. In terms of connection, you can get mmwave and sub-6GHz 5G connectivity, WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 on this chip.

Unlike the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 where we got a release of which Android OEMs to debut with the chip, the brand didn’t mention any Android OEM to take up this chip soon however, GSMArena guesses the Honor 80 will probably be housing this chipset.
