The latest Redmi phones to start pushing the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update are the global Redmi 10 and Redmi Note 8 (2021) models. The duo started getting the update shortly after the Global MIUI 13 beta testers recruitment program commenced. Only a few users have applied to test the upcoming update, and we doubt anyone has been selected. Hence, the global Redmi 10 and Redmi Note 8 2021 Android 12-based MIUI 13 update is only seeding at random.
As usual with OTA rollouts, it will take some days before making it to all eligible phones. Meanwhile, it’s the global models receiving the update, which comes with version numbers – MIUI 13.0.1.0 SKUMIXM – for Redmi 10 while Redmi Note 8 2021 is getting a stable MIUI 13.0.2.0 SCUMIXM. From that build numbers, these updates are based on Android 12 while also introducing features of MIUI 13.
Supposedly, these phones have received new Wallpapers, Widgets, Sidebar function, and a New Control Center. Also, the update has improved the performance and stability of MIUI by reintroducing optimized features of MIUI 12.5 Enhanced. You also notice some minor additions while that Android security patch level has been bumped to January 2022.
If you’re using either of the devices, you can check for the new update via the updater app. We have also added a link below for manual installation, but we recommend backing up your data before proceeding. We don’t know when other regions will receive this update, but you can stay updated with our tracker page.
