Xiaomi Redmi 7A starts pushing MIUI 12.5 update in China

The Redmi 7A is supposedly on the last batch of devices to receive the stable MIUI 12.5 update. That’s to say, Xiaomi has now finalized the rollout. Perhaps, the company is on the verge of finalizing the MIUI 12.5 deployment in China, as there are phones yet to be upgraded. Well, that’s commendable as it will allow time to focus on the next iteration, launching at the end of the year. And with the Redmi 7A MIUI 12.5 update now available in China, we expect the global rollout in the coming days.

Redmi 7A MIUI 12.5 update

The Redmi 7A MIUI 12.5 update, as usual, is on a limited rollout to allow time for Beta Testers to preview it for bugs. They’re to spend a few days testing the build, after which it will be released to the public. However, you can upgrade via the links below, but you might have to think twice before doing that if you use Google Play Services. That is because Xiaomi has disabled Google Service Framework on its phones running MIUI 12.5 Chinese ROM, except for premium phones and a few mid-rangers. But if you still want to proceed, below is all the information you need to know.

Xiaomi is seeding the Redmi 7A MIUI 12.5 update with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QCMCNXM – and it weighs 506MB. It is based on Android 10. The update brings the features of the new MIUI OS while bumping the Android security patch level to July 2021. You will notice a few changes after upgrading your device, and just after doing that, you will be able to uninstall some system apps.
