Their latest phone announced under the Redmi brand, Redmi 8A, is the best deal currently in the market for a device running Snapdragon 439 SoC. Redmi 8A Specs
The 8A comes with Xiaomi’s new Aura Wave grip design. From the back, it looks like the recently introduced Redmi Note 8, which has the camera modules arranged at the center. However, there’s only a single sensor present on the Redmi 8A with LED Flash. On the front are thick bottom bezel and a narrow top-notch with a waterdrop notch.
The device has P2i waterproof rating meaning it can withstand splash and light rainfall. It also comes with an IR port, 3.5mm headphone jack, and supports dual SIM card.
Redmi 8A comes with a 6.22-inch waterdrop screen. It’s resolution is 720 x 1520p, 19:9 aspect ratio, 297PPI pixel density. Interesting is the Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, which gives the display premium protection coupled with the P2i proof.
Behind the performance of Redmi 8A is Snapdragon 439, the same SoC that runs Huawei Y7 Prime. The chipset has 2 cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.95GHz and 6 efficient cores clocking at 1.45GHz. It will allow you to run less demanding games with its 3GB RAM, coupled with the Adreno 505 GPU for decent graphics.
Unfortunately, the device runs MIUI 10 on top Android 9, but Xiaomi has promised to push the MIUI 11, which is likely to be based on Android 10 very soon.
Camera
The camera isn’t the best Redmi 8A specs but it didn’t disappoint. And going with the previous series, it has always been a single module taking care of the camera needs at the back.
At the back of the device is a single 12MP f/1.8 Sony IMX 363 module with dual Phase Pixel Autofocus. It features an LED Flash, HDR, Video; 1080@30fps.
Battery
The 5000mAh battery capacity of 8A is the best feature of the device, and probably why so many people would like to have it. Also, it features USB-C port which is first for A-series and 18W Quick Charge.
Security
