While Google has released the stable Android 13 update to Pixel phones, it will take weeks to see OEMs bring the stable version to their eligible phones. Besides, most are yet to finalize the Android 12 rollout, which is the case of Xiaomi’s Redmi 9 Android 12 update.
Xiaomi has been working on upgrading the Redmi 9 to Android 12 with a stable MIUI 13 update. The device has been receiving a beta version of the build internally for weeks, and it looks like the public rollout will commence soon. If the recent reports are true, we are likely to see the Redmi 9 Android 12 update start seeding for eligible users in the coming weeks.
According to Xiaomiui, a supposed Xiaomi developer has leaked the Redmi 9 Android 12-based MIUI 13.0.4.0 SJCCNXM build. The above screenshot posted on the website shows the device running a new OS with the July 2022 security patch. It’s still unclear when the update will be available for the public, but hopefully in the next few days.
