Xiaomi Redmi 9 Android 12 update release is imminent

With Google gearing up for the release of Android 13 after reaching platform stability and releasing the final beta update a couple of days ago, Xiaomi plans to finalize the Android 12 rollout before that. They’re currently preparing the release of the Redmi 9 Android 12 update, which will arrive with MIUI 13.

Xiaomi has been rolling out an Android 12-based MIUI 13 update since the end of last year. Most eligible phones have already received the new upgrade, with a handful of eligible ones still waiting, which is the case with the Redmi 9 Android 12 update. However, the rollout is expected to commence in the coming weeks. 

According to reports, Xiaomi is about to start pushing the Android 12-based MIUI 13 update to the Redmi 9. The rollout will commence in China before hitting the global models, and we expect to see the first release in August. That seems like it, as the previous report suggested an August release, hinting at an issue that made Xiaomi push the release back.
