December 17 and not 15 is the official launch date of the Redmi 9 Power in India. Early rumor suggested that the device will debut on the 15th of this month but stressed there could be a last-minute change. That looks like it, as the company has officially confirmed it’ll be having a product launch in India. They’re going to introduce the Indian bound Redmi 9 Power, which is only a reworked Redmi Note 9 4G with an extra sensor.
The teaser released by the company, although, didn’t confirm most of its specs, showed us a glimpse of what is only a rebadged Redmi Note 9 4G. According to official Xiaomi, the device is going to feature a waterdrop notch and a primary 48MP sensor. It also confirmed a four color option, a Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, massive battery, and a power-packed processor.
Since the Redmi 9 Power is a reworked Redmi Note 9 4G, and that’s only because of the extra sensor, below is the supposed full specs. The device will also share a lot with the POCO M3 and might stop the phone from going to India, but we have to wait and see.
Supposed Redmi 9 Power specs
The device is going to feature a 6.53-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch for the 8MP selfie camera, protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Around the back is a primary 48MP sensor, paired with 8MP ultrawide angle-lens, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP Macro shooter with a LED flash.
Powering the Redmi 9 Power is a 6000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and reverse charging. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and under the hood is snapdragon 662 Octa-Core processor, paired with up to 6GB RAM. We don’t know about the pricing for the Indian market, but we expect the phone to start at under INR 10,000.
