Xiaomi keeps prioritizing its device in China with the Redmi K30 5G yet another device to start receiving the stable MIUI 12.5 update in that region. The update arrived for the Pro variants a couple of days ago — POCO F2 Pro for the global region. We expected the device to receive the update after the Chinese rollout, but instead, the Redmi K30 5G MIUI 12.5 update has unsurprisingly been released.
The update brings the features of the new MIUI OS, which is essentially an improvement of the current version. However, Xiaomi has disabled the Google framework with this update, meaning you won’t be able to install the Google play store and services after upgrading your device to MIUI 12.5. However, there’s a way to get the Google play service working on the Redmi K30 Pro, which we have covered in a separate post.
Meanwhile, the Redmi K30 5G MIUI 12.5 update has a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RGICNXM – and weighs in at 979MB. It has reduced power consumption, while background memory usage has been reduced as well. You can check the complete changes of the new MIUI OS skin here.
As usual, the update is seeding for select users known as Beta testers. The preview will last for a few days, and if successful in the end, the public rollout will start. However, we have a link below this post to download the recovery and OTA ROM if you’ve got an authorized Mi Beta account or TWRP recovery installed. Both are the only ways to bypass the server lock, or flashing the ROM won’t be successful.
