Xiaomi is yet to start seeding the stable Android 13-based MIUI 13 build to the public. The company has been testing the update, which is limited to select phones and users, but we might see the public release soon. Meanwhile, some devices like the Redmi K40S / POCO F4 are still waiting for their first release, but the story will soon change.
The Redmi K40S arrived in China a couple of months ago and later debuted globally as POCO F4 with a few tweaks. It runs Android 12 on top of MIUI 13 outside of the box, making it eligible for Android 13. The device, according to recent reports, will be getting the much-anticipated Android 13-based MIUI 13 build soon.
The latest MIUI development version released earlier today shows that Xiaomi will suspend it for the Redmi K40S / POCO F4 on September 23 due to a major Android upgrade, which is Android 13. Although there’s no timeframe for when the build will be released, we don’t expect it to take months.
We expect the Android 13-based MIUI 13 build for Redmi K40S / POCO F4 to arrive next month. Of course, only those participating in the MIUI development version will receive the build initially for testing. Hopefully, it won’t take much time before the stable and global users get the update.
