With the second phase of stable MIUI 13 update deployment underway in China, we expect the second wave of global deployment as well. The last couple of days have seen the Redmi K30 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, and the Redmi Note 10 5G get the much-anticipated Android 12-based MIUI 13 upgrade. Of course, that’s a piece of good news for the POCO M3 Pro 5G users, as the device could start pushing the update in the coming days/weeks.
Xiaomi is known for releasing the same device under a different moniker in every region, which was the case of the Redmi Note 10 5G. The device is available in some regions as POCO M3 Pro 5G, meaning it has the same development as the former. And with the device now getting the stable Android 12-based MIUI 13 update, it makes sense that POCO M3 Pro 5G users start anticipating the update. Given the company’s rollout pattern, it might take up to two weeks or more before the update makes its way to global devices.
Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 10 5G Android 12-based MIUI 13 update is on a limited rollout in China. Interestingly, it comes with the expected features, meaning there have been some new additions – Sidebar, Widgets, Wallpapers, MiSans Font, New Control Center, and improved security features. Of course, the device’s Android OS version has been pushed to Android 12, while the security patch level also got improved to increase system security.
If you’re running the Chinese ROM, you can check for the update via the updater app. However, we recommend backing up your files before proceeding as this build is a cross-section Android upgrade and likely to harbor some bugs.
