Well, Xiaomi is now sending out the Redmi Note 5 MIUI 12 update to the global ROM users. At some stage, we have to accept that the update won’t come. Also, the last report from Xiaomi Customer Support made us lose all hope of seeing the update. However, the update is now arriving globally and will soon make it to other regions. But as usual, with all OTA updates, only a few selected users will receive the update for preview. After that, which will probably take a few days, the public rollout will commence, and that’s when you might receive a notification for a new update.
The Redmi Note 5 MIUI 12 update is arriving on eligible units with a version number, MIUI 12.0.2.0 PEIMIXM, and weighs in at 697MB. It’s based on Android 9 and comes with all the features of MIUI 12. Below is the full Changelog of the update.

The update will arrive in batches as always, but you can download the ROM using the links below. However, you might have to wait for some days before flashing the ROM if your first attempt returns an error. You can also wait for the OTA to arrive, and that should happen over the next few days.
