The Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12.5 update is the latest to be released by Xiaomi as they look to finalize the rollout. They have since released the update to the Redmi Note 7 Pro and Redmi 7, which are probably the last Redmi series released before 2019 that’ll receive the update. Of course, the Redmi 6 and Redmi 5 series are not eligible for this update. It hasn’t been easy upgrading the former to MIUI 12, and perhaps, they won’t receive any other MIUI OS.
Meanwhile, this could be the last MIUI OS upgrade for the Redmi Note 7 unless the company decides to upgrade the device to MIUI 13. Xiaomi will release the next iteration of MIUI next month alongside the Mi Mix 4. We expect to learn about the features of the Android skin, which perhaps, have been limited, and phones that’ll receive it. Also, the beta recruitment exercise procedure with the guidelines is expected that day.
For now, the Redmi Note 7 MIUI 12.5 update has all the attention. The update is currently available in China, but that suggests that the global rollout is imminent. We might see the stable MIUI 12.5.3.0 QFGCNXM start seeding for the Global models in the coming days. The update will arrive with features of the new MIUI OS. They improve performance and address some problems introduced by MIUI 12.
Of course, the update is based on Android 10, and there’s no plan to upgrade it to Android 11. However, with the latest update, you’ll get features of the latest Android OS. That includes the new approximate location feature, new UI redesign, new animation framework. Also, you can manage sensitive permission for the related app. All the changes can be seen here.
