Xiaomi has released a new version of its Redmi Note series – Redmi Note 7. The device officially marks a beginning to an independent sub-brand by Xiaomi, as the company seeks to offer only smartphones that gives value for money. The Redmi Note 7 specs feature a big display, Snapdragon 660 SoC, and 4000mAh battery. Most important, the price is much avoidable at $150 and comes with 18 months warranty for the Chinese customers.
The Redmi Note 7 even as the first product of a new sub-brand still didn’t deviate from the big screen tradition as we have seen in both Redmi Note 5 and Note 6. The screen features a 6.3-inch 19.5:9 FHD+ display protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass for maximum durability. According to Redmi, the device boast of 84% screen to body ratio and 409 PPI to enhance the on-screen experience.
It was anticipated that Snapdragon 675 will run the Redmi Note 7, but it turns out to be SD 660 SoC behind the performance. Though the latter is pretty fast and power efficient, the former would have offered more enhanced performance. Nevertheless, the device will still impress with memory configurations of 3/32GB, 4/64GB, and 6/64GB.
To what might be the selling point of the Redmi Note 7 apart from the price tag, the camera. It’s a Samsung ISOCELL Bright GM1 illuminated CMOS sensor with 48 million physical pixels. The sensor is basically a 12MP but with the use of Samsung Tetra cell technology that merges four pixels to work as a single 1.6um pixel, the resulting images are much brighter and sharp even in low-light conditions.
More in interesting about the Redmi Note 7 camera is the latest AI features. The night mode feature that debuted with MI Mix 3, and now available in POCO F1, MI Mix 2s, MI 8, makes the cut. Also, AI scene detection, AI beauty enhancements and AI portraits are all available for a mind-blowing experience.
The battery is 4000mAh and supports Quick Charge 4.0 via USB-C port. With 9V/2A quick charger block, Redmi Note 7 will charge from 0 to 100% in 103 minutes which goes on to last a whole day on a decent use.
Other Redmi Note 7 specs include IR Blaster for controlling home appliances and Smart PA audio for high-quality sounds. The color options are Gold, Black, and Blue with an asking price of $150 for the base version.
