Just a few minutes after a new update started seeding for global Redmi Note 8 users, those in Indonesia are now receiving the much-anticipated update. It comes with all the features of MIUI 12, which include floating window, Revamped System UI, New Animation, while you have to tweak a few things to enable the super wallpaper. The Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update in Indonesia also brings the Android 10, and users can now start anticipating for Android 11.
The update is hitting eligible units with a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCOIDXM, and weighs in at around 2.1GB. On the changelog are only two changes: “Optimized system performance and improved system security and stability.” However, you’d notice other changes and few bug fixes after downloading and installing the update. But as usual, it’s a limited rollout for now and will start arriving for everyone very soon. You can still check the updater app and see if anything is there, and if not, exercise some patience. Also, there’s an option to flash the recovery ROM via “choose update package,” but you might encounter an error going that route.
We advise that you wait for the update to arrive via OTA, which looking at the situation, won’t take much time. But if you can’t wait and you have TWRP Recovery flashed on your device, then you can make use of the download link below.
