The Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update rollout is the one with so many complications. Even some users of the popular Xiaomi device are yet to receive the update for the first time. According to reports, they might have to wait till the first weeks of next month before receiving the update. However, for those running MIUI 12 on their device already, a new update is available, and it seems the update has supposedly fixed the Redmi Note 8 Wi-Fi bug.
After the latest stable MIUI 11 update that was rolled out to the device users a couple of days ago, there have been growing complaints about the device Wi-Fi. Going by this particular user, after updating his device to MIUI 11.0.12.0, the Wi-Fi signal dropped. From what we could understand, when playing PUBG or COD, the mobile frames drop drastically, and that’s due to poor Redmi Note 8 Wi-Fi connection.
All the things he did to fix the issue was only temporary as the issue came back after a few days. First, he had to enable Airplane mode, and that got the Wi-Fi working very fine, but it drops when disabled. The mobile data is working fine, which means the issue is affecting only the Wi-Fi.
Meanwhile, the MIUI 12.0.2.0 seems to have fixed the issue for those that have received it. Going by a particular user on the thread, after flashing the latest MIUI 12 update manually, the device Wi-Fi works just fine. However, that’s a long shot for so many people, especially those who haven’t flashed fastboot ROM for the first time. We recommend that you wait for the next update, which is expected to start seeding in the coming days. According to the Moderator, that’ll fix the Redmi Note 8 Wi-Fi bug.
Again, instead of unlocking the device bootloader, which is the first step to flashing a fastboot ROM, you should wait for the next Redmi Note 8 MIUI 12 update. The update going by the official Xiaomi will start seeding in the early weeks of next month.
