A perfect example is the Xiaomi Mi 9 Lite, which is now receiving the September security patch update. The Mi 9 SE is also getting the monthly patch update and will arrive on eligible devices over the next few days.

September security patch update for the Mi 9 Lite

The September security patch update for the Mi 9 Lite has a build number, MIUI 12.0.4.0 QFCMIXM, while that of Mi 9SE is coming as MIUI 12.0.2.0 QFBEUXM. Going by the update version numbers, the Mi 9 SE users currently receiving the new update are those in Europe while the global users are grabbing the security fix on their Mi 9 Lite.

Meanwhile, the update is still a beta stable, and as such, only selected users will receive it for now. And depending on how smooth the preview goes, the public will start receiving the build in the coming days. However, you can still sideload the ROM by downloading the recovery ROM using the links below.

Also, you can as well head over to System Updates and scan for the new update before you make use of the download links below. And in a situation you encounter an issue flashing the ROM, you should give it some days and check back.
