Sony starts rolling out Android 14 update

Sony starts rolling out Android 14 update

It’s been over a month since Google released the stable Android 14 update. The update has already arrived for all eligible Pixel phones, while other OEMs are currently rolling out the upgrade to eligible users. Sony has now joined the likes of Samsung and Xiaomi as it starts rolling out the update in Europe.

Sony’s Android 14 update is currently rolling out for Xperia 1 V in Europe. It comes in a 1.3GB package and has a version number 67.1.A.2.112. Along with all the Android 14 features, the update also delivers the October 2023 security patch to increase system security. Unfortunately, that’s not the latest one, as Google has just released the November 2023 patch.

And while Android 14 allows shortcuts on the lock screen, there’s one shortcut on each side on Pixel phones, but with the Sony’s Android 14 update, users can have two shortcuts. Below are other changes coming with the update.

It’s unclear when the update will arrive in other regions nor when other eligible phones will get the upgrade. Nevertheless, we expect a wider rollout in the coming days if there are no major issues with the build. Those using Xperia 1 V can check for the new update.
