Android 13, a much anticipated OS and software packed with a lot of interesting tweaks like Bluetooth Audio LE support, sleek feats like a new developer toggle, animation tweaks, battery optimization, taskbar, and media player enhancements, and a lot more. Meanwhile, it has been tipped that we should be expecting the stable Android 13 update next month.
Clues to the release of the stable Android 13 update
Entering the new month, the Big G released the August SMR alongside the Android 13 release note. It says that we might expect the stable Android 13 update in September. A main attraction in the release has to be “vulnerabilities affecting Android devices which are addressed as part of Android 13.”
The 107 CVEs addressed include sections of Android runtime, Framework, Media Framework, Package, Platform, and System. Furthermore, there was a part that mentions the stable Android 13 update coming in as an Android Open source project via the September security patch level.
Looking at the events revolving around Android 13, we will say the Big G is quite fast with the OS. In the case of Android 12, the AOSP was made available sometime in October and Pixel started receiving the update in two weeks. However, in the case of Android 13, we had two development reviews, and the four beta releases followed within a short period.
We won’t be surprised if a lot of Google devices get the stable Android 13 update as soon as early September. The just debuted Pixel 6a has even partaken in the Android 13 beta with Android 12 August SMR yet to be spotted on Pixel devices.
