According to the official MIUI 12.5 rollout plan, the update is expected to arrive for a handful of devices this month. And so far, Xiaomi Mi 10 series, Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra / Pro, and Mi 9 SE have all got the update. Also, the Redmi Note 9 5G alongside the Redmi K40 started pushing that update a couple of hours ago. As expected, the stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi K40 Pro / Plus has been released.
Of course, it’s a Chinese rollout, given that the device is sold under a different moniker globally. However, it could mean that the global rollout isn’t too far away from now, but that depends on the outcome of the preview. The stable MIUI 12.5 update for the Redmi K40 Pro / Plus is arriving for selected users only for beta preview. In the end, if successful, the update starts rolling out for the public, which will make the global rollout imminent.
Meanwhile, the update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.2.0 RKKCNXM. It brings all the features of the latest MIUI Android skin, including an improved haptic feedback system. It also increased system security with the latest Android security patch level as well as the overall performance of the device.
It’s unclear if the bugs affecting MIUI have been fixed by this update as promised by Xiaomi during the Q&A session some week ago. We believe so as early adopters claim MIUI 12.5 has fixed most of the problems they faced after upgrading to MIUI 12 and Android 11. Nevertheless, the current update is safe, and hence, you should download and install it when prompted.
