Early today, we brought you a report about Xiaomi developing a new MIUI for its phones in India. In that post, we suggest the update to be based on MIUI 12, which will also see the update get to more devices faster, at least in that region. And why that might not be the case here, the company has now released a stable MIUI 12 for POCO X2 publicly.
That might have come as a shock to some people, given that there was no beta version before going public. However, recall the POCO X2 is a rebadged Redmi K30, which has already received the stable MIUI 12 update in China. Hence, Xiaomi sees no need to organize a Beta test for the device again, since it’s always under closed testing in China.
The stable MIUI 12 update for POCO X2 is arriving for the Indian ROM users. It’s currently hitting eligible devices with a build number, ‘MIUI 12.0.1.0 QGHINXM’, and weighs in at 813MB. The update comes along with the full MIUI 12 features. Of course, it didn’t bring the Super Wallpaper support along as Xiaomi is prioritizing high-performance phones for that.
And since it’s a public release, eligible users will start getting the update in a few hours. To scan for the update, head over to System Updates and perform a manual scan, or you can follow the link below this post to download the recovery ROM.
It’s important to note that this update is based on Android 10. POCO promised Android 11 for the POCO X2, but that isn’t arriving just yet, it might take a little longer before the update starts seeding.
