A few days before the MIUI 12.5 was officially unveiled Xiaomi, released the stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8. The update arrived for a few people as it was still a “Beta Stable” build. However, the update is now hitting the public and will soon arrive on all eligible phones. The Redmi 7 is also receiving a stable update and is a public release for the Android 10 update. Unfortunately, it’s based on MIUI 11 and won’t get past it, as confirmed by Xiaomi.
The stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi 8 is hitting eligible phones with a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QCNMIXM, and weighs in at 649MB. It comes with the features of MIUI 12, but going by the feedback on the Mi community forum, the Android 10 gestures seem not to be working. The navigation bar line is absent as well, which is due to a previously reported bug. Nevertheless, you’d give your device a new look after updating to MIUI 12 with all the fascinating features.
As for Redmi 7 users, they can finally enjoy those Android 10 features as that of MIUI 12 has eluded them. The update is currently hitting the global users, and we expect it to extend to other regions in the coming days. It brings in addition to Android 10 features, the December security patch, and improved system security.
Redmi 8 users are also getting the December security patch, alongside all the features we have covered here. You can also download the recovery ROM for the update here, and for the Fastboot ROM, you should check below.
