It’s all about MIUI 12 this time with a bunch of Xiaomi phones already rocking the company’s latest Android skin. The update is still arriving on more devices every day, but unfortunately, it’s a MIUI 11 based security patch build that is being sent to the Redmi Note 9 Pro.
However, there’s no need to panic as it’s a matter of time before the stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro is released. Because having debuted with MIUI 11 based on Android 10, the device is eligible for both MIUI 12 and Android 11.
Meanwhile, the new build arriving for Redmi Note 9 Pro users has a version number – MIUI 11.0.5.0 QJZMIXM. It’s a security patch build that bumps the level to July 2020 to improve device security. Also, the update fixes some minor bugs, optimizes system performance, while getting the device ready for seamless migration to MIUI 12.
As usual, the update is first rolled out to limited users, whose feedback is used to either release an update to the public or pull it. However, the new update has been arriving for some time now, and no major bugs have been found, we expect the public rollout to commence soon. But there’s always a way to follow and be ahead of your peers. By manually downloading the update and using our detailed guide on how to flash Recovery ROM on the Xiaomi phone to get it working.
As for when the stable MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 9 Pro will start arriving, no ETA was given by Xiaomi. Nonetheless, we expect the update to start arriving this week, given that the second phase of the rollout has been initiated. Make sure you turn our notification on to get notified when the update starts arriving.
