The latest Mix 4 stable update adds spatial audio function

Xiaomi is bringing support for spatial audio to the Mix 4 premium phone with the latest stable update. The Chinese OEM, during the launch of the newly released Xiaomi CIVI, announced the TWS 3 Pro. It supports the spatial audio function, which has been added to the CIVI. And with the latest Mix 4 update, Xiaomi is bringing support for the 3D audio to the Mix 4.

The Spatial Audio function is Apple’s initiative to recreate the audio experience of a cinema. It makes use of Dolby Atmos signals and applies directional audio filters to adjust the frequencies of sounds coming to each ear. That makes sounds appear in 3D space. That is, sounds will come in 3D – from the front, sides, rear, and even above you.

There’s no doubt that that spatial audio function will improve sound experience like Dolby Atmos. Hence, the need to bring support to Xiaomi phones starting with the flagship Mix 4. Meanwhile, the feature is supported by the TWS 3 Pro and would not work on other Xiaomi TWS for now.

The function is arriving with that latest Mix 4 stable update seeding with a version number – MIIUI 12.5.9.0 RKMCNXM. Aside from introducing the new feature, the update has bumped the Android security patch level to September 2021 to increase system security and stability. It also addressed some bugs affecting the notification bar, status bar, and lock screen.
