There’s no doubt that Xiaomi MIUI needs some polishing to start competing favorably with other Android skin out there. With the virtual revamp experienced with MIUI 12 that left some bugs, the company is still trying to come back from that. For that reason, they have gone to release MIUI 12.5, which the Enhanced Edition is currently rolling out. Luckily, that addressed some issues faced by MIUI fans, but some have persisted. Hopefully, the new MIUI Alpha launcher addresses it according to the update log.
With the upgrade to MIUI 12.5, Xiaomi blocked its phones from using third-party launchers. That’s probably due to bugs that might arise from using these launchers, especially with gestures. However, blocking third-party launchers hasn’t solved some problems faced by Xiaomi phone users, but the company might have just fixed the most frustrating ones.
According to a recent report, the new MIUI Alpha launcher has addressed issues with apps crashing. Interestingly, the latest update has optimized memory usage while optimizing frame drop. Also, problems relating to the widget have been addressed, and the widget loading experience after restarting got some optimization. As usual, the update has optimized performance and fixed other bugs. Aside from the bug fixes, users are lauding the animation, while the blur effect looks to have been restored.
Luckily, you can download and install the new MIUI Alpha launcher to get the supposed fix and optimization. It doesn’t matter whether you’re on a stable or beta MIUI launcher, you can always install the current version. And if anything goes south, simply uninstall the updates.
