Xiaomi 12 Lite is the successor of the Mi 11 Lite that arrived last year. Both devices have the same flat screen design, but their specs are a tad different. Xiaomi 12 Lite has seen some upgrades in the specs compared to the predecessor, which has seen the price set at $400.

Xiaomi 12 Lite has a flat 6.55-inch AMOLED panel. It’s the same screen as the predecessor and features a 120Hz refresh rate. However, there are a few tweaks and additions – a punch hole for the camera is now at the center while an under-screen fingerprint scanner is present. The FullHD+ display supports HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and can reach 950 nits of brightness under the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
Xiaomi 12 Lite Performance
Xiaomi has gone for a 6nm processor – Snapdragon 778G. The Snapdragon 780G on the Mi 11 Lite is arguably a better processor in terms of power efficiency, but it seems the company is prioritizing performance. Nevertheless, you get a robust performance coupled with the 8GB of RAM and 256GB of ROM. There’s no provision for expansion, and outside of the box, the device runs Android 12 on top of MIUI 13.
Xiaomi 12 Lite Camera
There’s a substantial upgrade in the camera department. The 12 Lite replaces the 64MP on its predecessor with a primary 108MP shooter, which is paired with an 8MP Ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro shooter. The selfie camera is Samsung’s 32MP GD2 sensor with AF and software features – Selfie portrait mode and Xiaomi Selfie Glow.
Xiaomi 12 Lite battery and security
Power is drawn from a 4300mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. It promises a 50% charge in 15 minutes and would take under 40 minutes for a full charge.
The fingerprint is under the display. It has been moved from the power button, perhaps due to issues encountered with the sensor on Mi 11 Lite.
Xiaomi 12 Lite Price and Availability
Xiaomi 12 Lite price starts at $400 for the base 6/128GB version. The 8/128GB variants start at $450, while the premium 8/256GB model goes for $500. You can preorder the device from official Xiaomi stores in the color Black, Pink, and Green.
