Xiaomi has officially presented its latest Android skin Globally. The rollout from the official roadmap plan is scheduled for Q1 2024, but as usual, the update has started rolling out. However, only select users are getting the upgrade, and so far, the update is limited to a few regions.
The global HyperOS rollout plan suggests the update will start hitting eligible users from next year, but we always doubted that. Xiaomi never sticks to its rollout schedule, as we have seen in the past few years. And as expected, the global HyperOS update is now rolling out.
The update is hitting stable beta testers of the Xiaomi 12T in Europe. It comes with a version number OS1.0.5.0.ULQEUXM, and weighs about 5GB. As we already know, the new OS did not bring a major UI revamp, but there has been a redesign of the weather app. Xiaomi has introduced new system fonts which support multiple writing systems. Interestingly, there is a new animation language to make interaction with your device “Wholesome and intuitive.”
Aside from the HyperOS features, the Xiaomi 12T HyperOS update brings the November 2023 security patch to increase system security and stability. If you haven’t upgraded to Android 14 with MIUI 14, the update also brings the latest Android OS. However, we recommend backing up your data before installing the update as some system apps haven’t adapted to Android 14 yet, which might cause issues while using the device after upgrading.
Again, the update is limited to Pilot Testers. It will take about two weeks before it becomes available for everyone, but you can use the link below to download the Recovery ROM. You might get an error message installing the update, anyways, as the build is limited to a few devices.
Also, if your device bootloader is unlocked, you will not receive the HyperOS update. Xiaomi already confirmed you can only receive the update and subsequent releases if your bootloader is locked.
