The Redmi Note 11 series phones comprising Note 11, Note 11 Pro, and Note 11 Pro Plus are the latest offering of the Xiaomi sub-brand. They debuted running Android 11 on top of MIUI 12.5, which makes them eligible for Android 12. It’s the same for the Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 11 Lite NE, Xiaomi CIVI, and Redmi Note 10S, which are now testing the Android 12 update internally.
Xiaomi, since the first Android 12 beta 1 update has subjected some of its phones to internal testing. Luckily, these phones have received MIUI development based on Android 12. They’re currently waiting for the stable release, which is expected anytime from now. However, internal testing for the update just started for a few devices. While that’s a welcome development, it will take weeks before the development version of these builds is released to closed beta testers.
Perhaps, since Xiaomi has spent months testing the Android 12 build, that might speed up the testing phase. And if that’s the case we expect the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus Android 12 update to arrive much sooner. The Xiaomi 11T release will likely follow immediately, but given that the device isn’t available in China, it might take time before it’s released.
Nevertheless, we expect the aforementioned phones to receive the Android 12 update soon. Although there’s no ETA, we’re likely to see the devices start pushing the update early next year. That said, you should keep an eye on our tracker page to know when the stable Android 12 update starts hitting these phones.
