Within a space of four months, Xiaomi has announced two gaming smartphones with the latest Qualcomm Chipset. The Black Shark 2 Pro, however, features Snapdragon 855+ among other features, which makes it stands tall and ready to compete with other gaming phones.

Display
The Black Shark 2 pro sits on a 6.39-inch AMOLED display of 1080 x 2340px resolution. As a gaming smartphone, there’s a lot of attention given to the display to enhance the user experience. It includes a Dimming 2.0, which helps to reduce screen flickering on low Brightness. The screen also boasts of HDR, DCI-P3, 430nits, 6000:1 color brightness Magic press 2.0, and 240Mhz touch sensing ranking the device as the first gaming phone with such screen features.
Performance
The Snapdragon 855 Plus is the latest chip offering from Qualcomm, with overclocked frequency and Adreno 640 GPU, running at 700MHz. It means Black Shark 2 pro will offer superior graphics performance and seamless operations, considering the fast 12GB LPDDR4x RAM with 256GB UFS 3.0 storage. Also to ensure you never experience any form of lag, Xiaomi has equipped the Shark 2 Pro with Liquid Cool 3.0, which will help in the dissemination of heat, thereby reducing the CPU temperature, by using Liquid-cooled plates and Liquid-Cooling Tube.
Camera
Xiaomi isn’t taking anything away from the Shark 2 Pro, because even as a gaming phone, it can still take a great shot. The device comes with Sony IMX568 48MP wide lens, followed by a 12MP telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom. On the front panel is a 20MP selfie snapper, which supports HDR 10 and can record 1080p videos at 30fps.
Meanwhile, the primary features PDAF on both lens can at shoot slo-mo videos at 720p@1920fps. It can also record videos at 2160p@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60fps.
Security
The Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro is a complete package and lacks nothing you’d expect from a flagship phone, which is why Xiaomi has equipped it with the latest In-display fingerprint reader. It’s pretty fast and will unlock your device in about 0.1s.
Battery
There’s a 4000mAh battery that powers the Shark 2 Pro, to make sure you get ample of power on a single charge. You also get 27W Quick Charging via USB-C port, which is expected to charge your device in less than 90 minutes.
Black Shark 2 Pro price & Availability
The device will go on sale in China from August and will set you back CNY 2,999, which is about $435 for the 128GB version. The more premium 256GB variant will sell for 3499 CNY ( $508). You’ll be able to choose from Ice Ash, Electric Blue, Blue, Orange, and Purple colors.
