The Redmi Note series is very popular among phone enthusiasts and that’s probably because of the value for money pricing. And hence, we are not surprised with the latest report by Redmi General manager on Weibo that the Redmi Note series is the smartphone preference of 140 million people worldwide.

140 million Redmi Note phones sold

According to Lu Weibing, the reason why over 140 million people have chosen the Redmi Note is that it offers some flagship features for under CNY 1,000 (~152) price tag. It also adheres to information transparency to give users the right information about each Redmi Note phone and saning all unnecessary premium features while sticking with dependable product quality.

Xiaomi Redmi Note series came to light in 2014, and in 2019, it was confirmed as an independent brand. The brand has released some affordable smartphones into the market, which got a warm reception. It took the Redmi Note 7 four months to cross 10 million sales and that has since exceeded 40 million units globally.

The successor, Redmi Note 8, is no different. It was the best Xiaomi selling smartphone in Q1 2020 and the second best selling smartphone at the time, according to Omdia research organization. The device, however, now has a successor, Redmi Note 9 series, and is doing great in the market. Surprisingly, the company is already updating the Redmi Note 9 Pro to Android 11 before their flagship phones.

According to reports, Redmi will be introducing a new Redmi Note 9 series phone this month. It’s expected to support 5G and will launch in China. The supposed Redmi Note 9 5G and Note 9 Pro 5G will be exclusive to the Chinese market since it didn’t receive any of the previously launched models due to lack of 5G support. However, rumors have it that the device will arrive on the global market as the Redmi Note 9T 5G and Redmi Note 9T Pro 5G.
