Xiaomi introduces a new device connectivity feature with the latest MIUI 12 China ROM

Xiaomi keeps improving its latest MIUI Android skin, even though it’s barely a few months since it was made official. The MIUI 12 came with so many features, but we have seen other new ones added in recent weeks. A few days ago, the screen combo feature, which allows the interaction of the phone via a PC, was pushed to the stable ROM users after weeks of beta testing. And now, the company is testing a new device connectivity feature, which came along with the latest MIUI 12 China ROM.

New device connectivity feature

The new device connectivity feature allows a seamless switch between your device and the Bluetooth speaker. Having the feature enabled on your device means that you don’t have to disconnect your speaker to use the phone’s speaker or to answer calls.

How to enable the new device connectivity feature

To activate this feature, you need to access the Bluetooth additional settings and enable the notify Bluetooth device connections option.

  • Step 1. Got to settings >> Bluetooth >>Additional Bluetooth settings
  • Step 2. Enable the notify Bluetooth device connection option
  • Step 3. Select the option that bests convenient for you. You can choose from Default, This Device, Bluetooth ( Media), and Bluetooth (Calls).

Unfortunately, only the Chinese branch of MIUI can activate this feature. We still don’t know when the global users will receive that particular feature, but considering the events of the past, it might take months.

The Chinese version of MIUI is always first to get new features, and most times, that particular feature comes to global units with the next iteration of MIUI. Take, for example, the Ultra battery saver. It arrived with MIUI 11 on the Chinese version, but only made it to global units recently.

Nevertheless, we expect global users to receive the new device connectivity feature before MIUI 13. We’ll also keep following the situation and will update this space once a breakthrough is made to start rolling out the feature to the global users.
