On December 28, Xiaomi unveiled the MIUI 12.5, which the company said will focus on system optimization and stability. We confirmed that after the launch, going by the features it presents. You can check all of that here. The update is currently rolling out to those with successful beta applications and arrived with Android 11 for some eligible phones.
Meanwhile, some phones didn’t get the beta version during the first rollout because of a major Android upgrade. They include Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi CC9, which are only receiving their first MIUI 12.5 closed beta update. As expected, it comes with the much anticipated Android 11 build but is limited to those in the closed beta group. The stable ROM users will also receive the Android 11 update alongside the MIUI 12.5 and going by the release schedule, will arrive sometime in May or sooner.
If you’re part of the closed beta group, you should receive the Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi CC9 / Mi 9 Lite First Android 11 update via OTA. You can also make use of the links below to download the update. And for those with Mi 9 Lite and has TWRP Recovery with Android 11 Support installed, you can also side-load the ROM.
However, it’s a beta build and will have some bugs. Only flash the ROM if you can live with bugs, and it is also not recommended to use it as a daily driver. If you still want to proceed, download the ROM below. After installation, you can perform a factory reset to fix some of the minor glitches and lags.
