The Xiaomi Mi Mix flagship segment is where Xiaomi shows its Innovative prowess. It was the series that first introduced a full-screen display by integrating the selfie camera on a slider. That is coupled with premium Snapdragon 855 SoC and other top-notch features. As a premium phone, it is eligible for two Android OS upgrades and three years of security support. The latter has been seeding quarterly while the former has only seeded once: Android 10, having debuted with Android 9. With that, the device is eligible for Android 11, but it doesn’t look like it will be arriving soon.
Xiaomi has just released the Mi Mix 3 MIUI 12.5 update in China. Surprisingly, the update is based on Android 10. However, it brought the features of the new MIUI OS, which has some features of the current Android OS integrated inside. With that, you won’t notice the device still runs Android 10 after upgrading. Luckily, you get all these and still use a third-party launcher, which has since been disabled on Xiaomi phones running Android 11 on top of MIUI.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 MIUI12.5 update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 QEECNXM. Aside from introducing the new features, it also bumps the Android security patch level to increase system security. The update has fixed some bugs left by MIUI 12 and optimized system performance. You can check for the update via the Updater App or download from the links below.
Again, it’s a limited rollout at the moment, and it will take some days before seeding for the public. Also, there’s no ETA as to when the update will hit the global users, but you can follow the deployment on our tracker page.
