Since the introduction of the fifth-generation network – 5G, MediaTek has seized the opportunity to close the gap between their counterparts – Qualcomm. company has released some affordable 5G enabled processors, and it’s their Dimensity 820 SoC powering the Redmi 10X. And for the first time, a Mediatek processor will power Xiaomi entry-level smartphone. For years now, Xiaomi has relied on Qualcomm chips. The company started taking a turn last year when it debuted the Redmi Note 8 Pro with Mediatek G90T SoC.
Although the Note 9 Pro switched back to a Qualcomm processor, the Redmi Note 9 did take its place. According to multiple reports, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 will debut with the Helio G80 Octa-Core processor. The SoC won’t only make the phone affordable, it will also deliver performance close to that of Redmi Note 8. It will be equipped with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB RAM, which will improve the multitasking capability.
According to reports, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 will have a big 6.53-inch FullHD+ display with a 1080p resolution. It will house a quad-camera lens; 13MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP. From the picture above, the shooters are aligned vertically alongside the fingerprint scanner. But while the arrangement looks more like that of Redmi K30s, it represents the Redmi Note 8 Pro camera placement more accurately, with the fourth camera and the LED-Flash are placed on the right side.
The battery is said to be a 5,000 mAh and will support 18W fast charge. Thus far, the phone has only been revealed in two colors; Green and Violet. The device may run MIUI 12 outside-of-the-box, but that hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Nevertheless, as the launch date draws near, we expect to see more leaks and probably the official launch date. For now, this is all we know and once we get more information on the device, we will put it out to you.
